How Many Hours Do You Play Video Games?

U.S. gamer stats are pretty staggering. Do you qualify to be a “core gamer”? Check out these statistics about how many hours people spend gaming every week.

The NDP Group found that there are 34 million core gamers in the U.S. and in 2014 they spent an average of 22 hours playing video games each week.

Another study, the Neilsen 360° Gaming Report, found these stats for the average number of hours gamers spend playing video games each week. Theses stats come from surveying more than 2,000 U.S. consumers from late 2013 and early 2014.  Gamers aged 13 and up play an average of:

  • 6.3 hours in 2013
  • 5.6 hours in 2012
  • 5.1 hours in 2011

On the PC alone in 2013, gamers spent 33% of their time playing games. And consoles like the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Wii and Wii U combined were played with 38% of the time.
