Gift giving time is almost upon us, and if you’re a procrastinator (or just stumped) here is a list of last-minute gift ideas that could have you looking as thoughtful as Scrooge- after all the ghost shenanigans.
1. Go digital: You know what can get to your home faster than shipping and handling? Digital downloads. Get your friends or loved ones digital versions of their favorite movies, games, or books. And if the gift is downloaded directly to their favorite device, it’s like you digitally wrapped it!
2. No password needed: If you don’t know how to send a movie or game right to their device, you just need their email! Send them an e-gift card so they can choose what they want without having to leave the house! They can enjoy exactly what they want from the comfort of their own ridiculous-looking PJs.
3. Wrap the receipt: This one can be so much fun to pull off with some creativity. Just because the gift may not get there in time, doesn’t mean that you’ll miss out on their excitement. Put the receipt in a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box… As they dig deeper, so will the suspense. Plus, if the receipt is for a really awesome gift (like an Evodesk gaming desk) it’ll be worth the hype.
4. Make a trailer for it: There are great trailer-making programs out there, and with some of the videos or pictures from the company website, you can make a great gift trailer. For example, the Evodesk gaming desk has a great video here that you can use as the lead in and end it with “Coming to your room [delivery date].” This is a thoughtful and exciting way to showcase how awesome the gift is even if it won’t be arriving on the big day.
5. Go to a store: This one might sound archaic, but running to a store means you don’t have to worry about delivery date. There is a price though: crowds, sick people, time spent, and how to sneak away. But if you missed the “It’ll get there by December 24th” deadline, this can be an option.

7. Get a subscription: The gift that keeps on giving! Set them up with one of those gifts that comes once a month so eve if it’s not there on the 25th, they will feel the love all year. My husband loves bread and when he got a Bread of the Month Club membership one year, it was like his birthday was once a month! Every time a new loaf arrived, he called my sister to tell her how delicious a different this bread was (chocolate sourdough anyone?). There are tons of these now with everything from a personal stylist to your best shave.
There are plenty of ways to make the people you love feel special (even if you are behind on the deadline). Just remember, whatever the gift, it’s the thought that counts.
